Happy 2022! With this new year comes wonderful news, that the KITE RUNNER is coming to Broadway for a five-month run in New York followed by a national tour.
This is quite nostalgic for me since my first cultural advisory role was when Khaled Hosseini asked me to work on the first production of the KITE RUNNER at San Jose Rep, nearly twelve years ago.
Since then, I’ve been involved with numerous plays and I’m currently working on writing my first play which received a residency at Golden Thread Productions in the fall of 2021.
I will be working with the KITE RUNNER Broadway team as a Cultural Consultant and Script Advisor. My hope is to bring cultural authenticity and community engagement to this production, which is the first production where an immigrant story is showcased on Broadway.
We are currently casting New York-based actors for the production. Please share this casting call with your friends and community. I would appreciate your help in getting the word out to the Afghan community.
